Mick Harford has joined the backroom team at Newcastle United.

The Sunday Sun says Newcastle United's new director of football Joe Kinnear has added Harford to the Magpies' backroom staff.

Harford worked with Kinnear at Wimbledon and Luton Town and is expected to bolster the club's scouting network.

As a player he represented Sunderland, Newcastle and Chelsea.
