Hannover skipper Cherundolo interested in MLS move

Steve Cherundolo admits he is pondering a future move to Major League Soccer.

The 34-year old defender has spent his entire career in Germany with Hannover 96 but with his contract due to expire in May, could be lured home to spend his last playing days in the ever-expanding MLS competition.

Cherundolo has seen some of his former USA teammates already make the plunge and head back home and he admits he is contemplating the same.

"Good friends have moved back home recently. Carlos Bocanegra is there and has wonderful things to say about the league," Cherundolo told ESPN.

"And obviously playing at home is something much different from anything we've been used to. We spent our whole careers away from home."

He added: "It's always something that I am interested in. I follow the league, it is a great little league."
