Regular first team football could be the deal breaker that sees Fulham defender Brede Hangeland join a bigger club. The Norway captain has been linked with a host of top sides in England since his arrival from FC Copenhagen in January 2008.
"I have never heard anything concrete," he told Nettavisen.
"I have been asked about the speculation many times in the past, but it is not worth thinking about something that may not be real.
"Besides, it is better to be an important part of a slightly smaller club than to become lost at a big club."
Asked whether he would like to join a big club if he would be one of three centre backs in the squad, he said: "That is hypothetical.
"Of course, everyone wants to win trophies. If a big club wanted me to join as one of their three centre backs, I would consider it as and when they approached me."
