Brede Hangeland has been impressed by Crystal Palace defender James Tomkins.
Hangeland, who hung up his boots this summer at the age of 35 following spells in England with Fulham and Palace, is in a good position to talk about centre-back Tomkins.
"I think he's a very good player and I've always watched him, wondering why he hasn't had more regular football," said the former Norway captain to the Croydon Advertiser.
"I think he's a very good signing for Palace, and with Scott Dann and Damien Delaney there, that's a strong team at the back."
