Handful of inclusions has QPR's Onuoha excited about next season

QPR's Nedum Onuoha feels manager Mark Hughes' squad is shaping up well ahead of next season.

The R's have permanently signed Samba Diakite and have brought in Andy Johnson, Ryan Nelsen and Robert Green with Fabio da Silva joining on loan from Manchester United so far this summer.

With those five inclusions, and potentially more to come, Onuoha believes it is an exciting time at Loftus Road after warding off relegation last term.

"They all appear to be excellent signings," he told the club's official website.

"You've got to trust the manager to pick the right players for the club - he's done that in the past.

"He's helped all the teams that he's been at become better sides. The players coming in will help the club to progress.

"All being well, this should be a better year for us. I'm very excited for the new season.

"Last season, there was so much tension in the final months.

"But now there's hope and optimism and who knows what can happen?"
