Hammarby forward Charlie Davies is set to complete his transfer to French Ligue 1 club Sochaux. The American international has been linked with a move away from the Swedish club for some time now and will finally move to a bigger European club.

The move was confirmed by Hamamrby chief executive Michael Andersson.

"Naturally it's sad that a player like Charlie is leaving us," Michael Andersson said on the club's official website.

"But when a player develops like Charlie has done we don't have resources to keep him.

"It's a problem we share with other teams in Sweden."
