Hamilton No1 Cerny: Fabianski should have taken control before Arsenal howler

Hamilton goalkeeper Tomas Cerny says there was a "clear communication problem" as Arsenal's Lukasz Fabianski struggled to cope at Porto this week.

The Polish goalkeeper was the talk of the continent yesterday, as his YouTube moment with Sol Campbell against FC Porto in the Champions League was debated by fans everywhere.

"There was a clear communication problem," admitted Cerny yesterday of Fabianski's costly decision to pick up Campbell's back pass and concede a free-kick goal to Porto. "However, it has nothing to do with Fabianski being Polish. That could have happened between two Scots. It was just a communication problem.

"Fabianski should either have shouted 'keeper's ball' or 'clear' to Campbell. I am sure Fabianski's English is good but he has not played often with Campbell. Only they will know why it happened. I would have cleared it and I think Fabianski should have made the decision for both of them," he added to The Herald.
