Tomas Cerny insists the main objective for Hamilton this season is to avoid relegation. Five defeats in their last six matches has seen them slip into trouble, just two points above rock-bottom Aberdeen.
Czech stopper Cerny is currently on loan at Hamilton from Sigma Olomouc.
"We are a club which got promoted to the top division after a 20-year wait," he told efotbal.
"With that in mind, our aim is to avoid the drop. We would like to finish in the top six, though."
Cerny insists he is happy with life in Scotland, but admits he has no desire to secure a long-term move away from his homeland.
"From a footballing point of view, I am absolutely happy here," he said.
"But my family and friends are all in the Czech Republic, home sweet home.
"At the moment I don't feel I would be interested in staying here on a long-term basis. Of course things can change."
