Hamilton boss to take no action against red carded Offiong

Television evidence has saved Hamilton's Richard Offiong from disciplinary proceedings by boss Billy Reid after the striker was red carded against Aberdeen. Having reviewed TV footage of the 90th-minute incident on the Aberdeen touch-line, Reid revealed he would not be taking any action against the player.

He said: "I've since seen the incident on TV and I don't think I can say anything to Richard about it. The ball was played out and the ball boy has played it back to him. Before he knows it the ball is on top of him and it has ricocheted off his foot and away.

"I think he has been very unfortunate to get a second yellow card for that and as far as I am concerned the matter is closed."
