The Irn-Bru First Division champions are determined to succeed where Gretna failed by coping with life in the top flight.
Reid said: "I am still very much looking to make some more additions to the squad and we will definitely add more.
"I am working away on that just now, so it's very much a case of wait and see.
"We have had a sprinkling of trialists in, as is common across all clubs at this time of year.
"We had two lads from Austria but they have returned home.
"We're still looking at some others, a Czech lad and a player from the English Championship, but we will see what happens over the next few days."
Reid's squad have returned for pre-season training and he believes they will be in peak shape for the challenges which lie ahead in the SPL.
He told the club's official website: "I am absolutely thrilled at the way things are going so far and in particular with our players' standard of fitness.
"While we have had two sessions a week since we finished at the end of April, which was optional, the squad have clearly looked after themselves.
"The new guys - Derek Lyle, Sean Murdoch and Mark Corcoran - have settled in brilliantly. It's very pleasing.
"We haven't picked up any injuries either, which is great. In fact, the whole set up just now is fantastic.
"The players have also been working hard on their strength conditioning and I really couldn't be any happier."
