Hamilton boss Reid, "doing whatever it takes"

Survival is all that matters at the moment for Hamilton boss Billy Reid, even abandoning his football principles in the search for valuable points. After a decent start to their first season in the SPL, Accies gradually slipped down the table in to bottom spot.

"I am disappointed that I have had to ditch my principles, definitely," Reid said.

"It's not what I wanted to do.

"The half-year report is that we are adjusting to the SPL.

"We have played good football at times but we have to do what it takes to pick up points in this league.

"We didn't play particularly well in the two games against Motherwell and Kilmarnock but we took six points.

"On the other hand, we played really well against Hibernian at Easter Road and got nothing.

"So, you ask any manager - you have to do whatever it takes."
