German club Hamburg are hoping that Tottenham decide to sell Rafael van der Vaart during the current transfer window.
The Bundesliga outfit have been keen on the Dutchman for much of the summer and are now looking to push through a deal prior to the transfer window closing on Friday.
"There is not a lot of time - it is really up to Tottenham Hotspur," Hamburg chairman Carl-Edgar Jarchow told Deutsche Presse-Agentur.
"If we have a chance to sign him, we will do everything we can to make that happen."
van der Vaart, who is valued at £14million, spent time at Hamburg between 2005 and 2008 and now the Rothosen want him back at the Imtech Arena after two years in North London.
