Hamburg hope to set up a loan deal for Everton striker Nikica Jelavic.

HSV chief Oliver Kreuzer confirmed this week there had been contact with Everton over the availability of the Croatia international.

But Everton's terms are proving a stumbling block and Kreuzer hopes to negotiate a loan agreement instead with the option to sign Jelavic permanently at the end of the new season.
