Hamburg striker Ze Roberto has basically ended speculation that he will be making the move to MLS club New York Red Bulls. The 35-year old Brazilian had been heavily linked with a three-year deal to join the Red Bulls at the end of the German Bundesliga season but he said that a potential transfer was not on the cards.
"A transfer is not an issue," he said.
Ze Roberto was linked so heavily with New York due to the fact that former Hamburg director of sport Dietmar Beiersdorfer is now general manager of the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, who has a close relationship with the New York outfit.
