The young South Korea international, 20, has been in sensational goal scoring form this season, which has attracted enquiries from Liverpool.
HSV chief Frank Arnesen is aware of Liverpool's interest and pushing to open new contract talks with Son.
"We really want to extend his contract," revealed the ex-Chelsea football director last night.
