Hamburg coach Martin Jol has poured cold water on the prospect of luring back Rafael van der Vaart from Real Madrid.
Earlier this week, Jol declared an ambition to bring the Dutchman back to Hamburg for next season.
But last night, the former Tottenham manager explained: "You know how it goes. Someone suggests a question about Van der Vaart and I give a normal answer.
"We can talk about all the players who in past decade have played here, but it has no use. These comments cannot be taken seriously. There's no chance of a transfer for Van der Vaart.
"He plays there (in Madrid) now and he has signed for five years. He will make every effort at Real Madrid to succeed."
