Hamburg technical director Lee Congerton is in talks with Sunderland.
The Evening Chronicle says Sunderland are preparing to appoint Lee Congerton as their new director of football.
Former Chelsea chief scout Congerton is currently technical director at Bundesliga side Hamburg, and is highly-rated within football circles.
He'll step in following Roberto de Fanti's axing earlier this season.
