Hamburg concede they cannot afford to sign Tottenham ace Rafael van der Vaart.
Van der Vaart has been linked with a return to his old employers and the club's fans have putting pressure on the board to make it happen.
But chairman Carl Edgar Jarchow told Bild: "We cannot finance a move for Rafael van der Vaart."
