Liverpool hero Didi Hamann hopes they can land Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke. The Belgium hitman, 24, is being chased by the Kop giants and Manchester United for a big summer move.

Asked if he's worth £30m, Hamann tweeted: "Yes, absolutely. They need a few players this summer. Benteke [is] top of my list.

"He's the best LFC can get. [He's] not injury prone, [he's] just had one bad injury and can play on his own up top.

"The fella is awesome. [I've] never seen [Martin] Skrtel bullied by someone like he did at Wembley. He's a monster.

"He's a goal machine and occupies two players all the time.

"With the quality behind, [Benteke is] a perfect fit."
