Former Manchester City midfielder Didi Hamann has branded Mario Balotelli "selfish".

He believes City may eventually offload him because of his ill-discipline -and that no big club will then want him because of his bad-boy antics.

"He's a talented kid, but he's also a bit unpredictable," Hamann told the Mirror. "He's got to learn to cut this behaviour out of his game if he wants to be a top, top player.

"Undoubtedly he is a great striker and he's capable of doing some great things, as he's shown this season, but he can't keep behaving like this.

"He needs to sort himself out if he wants to have a long career at a top club like Man City because he is in danger of throwing it away.

"It will come to a point where Man City say, 'Do we really want this player if he is always causing trouble?'. He needs to understand what he is doing and what will be the consequences of his actions."
