Released Manchester City pair Didi Hamann and Danny Mills face uncertain futures.

Mills played at right-back for England in the 2002 World Cup campaign - and has nearly 300 league appearances with eight clubs to his name.

Hamann is best known for scoring the final goal against England at the old Wembley for Germany in 2002.

"We do our best to help but it's hard for them," said a spokesman for the PFA.

"The majority of them will get fixed up but for some it is the end of the road."
