Former Liverpool midfielder Dieter Hamann has said that if Jurgen Klopp is hired, he can repeat the success of his Borussia Dortmund years at Anfield.
Klopp won two Bundesliga titles and reached the final of the Champions League with Dortmund before quitting his job last summer.
Hamann also believes that the German manager will find it easy to connect with the Merseyside club's history and fans if he happens to take the job recently vacated by Brendan Rodgers.
He said: "I think Jurgen already knows where Liverpool stand in the game.
"I remember he brought Dortmund to Anfield a couple of years ago, and he touched the sign in the tunnel, and then stood looking at the Kop for about 30 seconds.
"He gets it. He had that connection with the fans at Dortmund, and I think he can do it again."
