Former Bayern Munich midfielder Didi Hamann has revealed his old club is in contact with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The future of veteran coach Jupp Heynckes is unclear at Bayern and Hamann says the Germans have made Pochettino an option.

He told Sky Deutschland: "I know that Bayern Munich has contacted Mauricio Pochettino and that he was an option, and maybe he is.

"The fact that the Bayern coach speaks German can be an important criterion, but certainly not decisive. Pep Guardiola could not be perfect either.

"They will try to get the best coach possible. For me, it would be the coach of Tottenham."
