Croatian club Hajduk Split are interested in troubled Newcastle Jets defender Ljubo Milicevic. The 27-year old former FC Thun and Melbourne Victory man confirmed that the club were in contact with him.

"There has been ongoing contact with Hajduk Split and it would be a dream come true to pull on the shirt and play in front of Torcida," Milicevic said.

Milicevic hopes a move back to Europe will enhance his chances of a return to the Socceroos squad ahead of next year's World Cup.
