Romanian legend Gheorge Hagi has paid tribute to Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

United are in Romania this week for their Champions League tie with FC Cluj.

"Ferguson is an example to every coach in the world," Hagi told the Manchester Evening News. "Giggs is a wonderful player who was about skill and imagination, not power. He isn't like a typical British player.

"United are very respected in Romania, as a team who usually reach the Champions League semi-finals or finals should be."
