Philadelphia Union head coach John Hackworth has allayed fears that the club will fail to make any significant signings this offseason.
The Union have thus far been unable to bring in any fresh faces ahead of the 2014 MLS season and have lost key midfielder Michael Farfan to Mexican club Cruz Azul.
But Hackworth is confident that positive things will get done so Philly aren't left behind Eastern Conference rivals DC United, who have signed Eddie Johnson and Sean Franklin, Columbus Crew who brought in Michael Parkhurst and Toronto FC with their quality additions of Jermain Defoe and Michael Bradley.
"I know sometimes fans can get frustrated by a lack of movement. But I'm confident that we are in a really good position," he said.
"Hopefully very soon we'll have some things to announce that will show we're in a similar situation to D.C. and Columbus. Maybe not spending the same type of money that Toronto has laid out for Bradley and Defoe, but at least that we're in it."
And Hackworth suggested that Thursday's MLS SuperDraft will be a good place to start.
"We need to maximize this draft. We need to do a really good job selecting players that we feel can really contribute," he added
"We have a couple of position-specific areas where we need to add depth, absolutely, and I think that's our main focus right now in looking at this draft and this draft pool."
