Gyan injury may force Sunderland back into transfer market

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce may be forced back into the market for a new striker.

The Daily Mail says Bruce saw Asamoah Gyan limp out of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Liverpool with an ankle injury after falling awkwardly and will consider dipping into the transfer market again this week.

Sunderland have been offered Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner but are also weighing up other targets including Tottenham's Peter Crouch.
