Gyan excited working with Sunderland striker Bent

Sunderland record signing Asamoah Gyan is looking forward to teaming up with Darren Bent.

Bent has scored an incredible 29 goals in just 44 appearances for the club - an average of more than a goal every two games.

And Gyan told safc.com: "I am looking forward to playing with Darren.

"He is a very good player with Sunderland and the national team; he is doing so well. Darren did a great job last season. I was following him; people rated Sunderland as an underdog but he was scoring all the time.

"Darren is fantastic. I'm now here and I wish to play with him but the coach will decide who plays. I'm a player of Sunderland now and I have to give my best, then the coach will decide."
