Guthrie thriving with extra responsibility at Newcastle
Danny Guthrie has enjoyed his chance in Newcastle United's midfield.
Guthrie, who the club want to secure on a long-term contract, has thrived in the absence of Cheick Tiote and Yohan Cabaye.
“I don’t mind having that extra responsibility,” said the ex-Liverpool star.

Cherish the sight of Giggs on the pitch because he is on borrowed time now although he shows little signs of deterioration.
In my lifetime (60 years) he is without a doubt the best British born player I have seen. Magnificent player who still sends shivers down my spine when I see him running at defenders at pace.
22 years playing at the top - and still a first choice, when United are the top team in the coutnry for all that time, takes some doing and he is a true one-off.
Ryan Giggs - should be footballer of the century for me!
