Reading midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson is out for a month as he prepares to undergo groin surgery.
The Icelandic midfielder has not been seen in action since January 12 and after failing to shake off his problem, the club have opted to send him for surgery.
"Brynjar is off to London this afternoon to undergo a procedure," Reading physio Jon Fearn told the club's official website. "He was progressing well and trained late last week, but he was still having discomfort.
"So, rather than wait until the end of the season we decided to deal with it now and get him pain free and 100 percent as soon as possible."
