Dutch legend Ruud Gullit admits he rates Diego Maradona ahead of Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Former AC Milan star Gullit locked horns with Maradona at Napoli.
"Maradona was not only a great player, he was also a real leader. He knew how to win by himself, as he did at the World Cup (1986)," explained Gullit to RAI.
"When I see Messi, I feel like he's a great player, but he's very protected. He is protected by the referees, by the media, by the regulation ... Messi is limited to dribbling.
"Maradona did everything and even had to be careful as all his opponents wanted to break his two legs."
