Francesco Guidolin admits he almost quit Udinese last year.
The coach says he was ready to resign after failing in the Champions League qualifiers in August.
"After the Champions League play-off defeat to Sporting Braga, I came very close to quitting,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport, referring to a tie they lost on penalties.
“But I stayed tough and it all passed two days later. I fell back in love with this city - I love the people here.
“I will only Coach this club in Italy, while I’ll keep a small door open for a European side.”
