AS Monaco striker Eidur Gudjohnsen expects to sign permanently with Tottenham.
The former Chelsea forward netted his first goal for the club against Stoke last weekend, and was on the scoresheet once again as Tottenham beat Fulham to reach the FA Cup semi- final at Wembley.
Gudjohnsen said: "It's fairly straightforward. It was a loan deal to the end of the season with an option for next season as well.
"Whether they make it long-term beyond that I don't know. It's something that the clubs and myself will have to talk about. I am loving my time here.
"There is something in place but both parties have to agree, and for the time being I'll settle for that."
Gudjohnsen admits that he has found life difficult in London as his family are still living in Spain and he is having to spend time away from his three children. But he is hoping that his wife and family will eventually move back to England if he does secure a permanent move to Tottenham.
Gudjohnsen added: "My family haven't come over yet. They are still living in Spain.
"It's difficult being away from them, but hopefully we will all be together here in the future.
"I've got three kids in school in Spain and they are very settled. Two of my boys are playing in the Barcelona youth team so they are very happy.
"They are back and forward but if my move does become permanent we would all be together here."
