Gudjohnsen insists Monaco struggles will not affect Spurs impact
Eidur Gudjohnsen has told Tottenham fans his struggles at Monaco will have no bearing on his impact at Tottenham.
The Iceland international, who spent six years at Chelsea, signed on loan from Monaco last week and is delighted to be back in the 'special' atmosphere of the Barclays Premier League.
Ex-Barcelona striker Gudjohnsen said: "I didn't think that I'd be coming back here. When I was with Chelsea I would probably have said I'll never play for Tottenham because of the rivalry but never say never in football.
"I had two options that were equal financially. I hope this is the right choice. It's up to me to show everyone that it is and that I can help the team move upwards.
"The atmosphere makes the Premier League special, the passion of the fans and waking up on a match day it seems the whole world is looking at the Premier League. I missed that.
"In Spain you have a similar passion for the game but not quite the same. In France it was completely different and it didn't fit with my personality.
"I'm really looking forward to being back in the Premier League with Tottenham. I've found big motivation again and will focus on doing everything I can to help the team."
