Eidur Gudjohnsen was delighted to hit Barcelona's winner against Real Betis last night.
The Iceland international could easily have left the Nou Camp in the summer, but chose to dig in his heels and fight for a place in coach Pep Guardiola's team.
His reward was last night's crucial performance and he said afterwards: "Yes, I needed it.
"Everyone knows that these last two years have not been easy, not only for me but for the team. This victory so far can help the team and me personally, too.
"I wear this shirt with pride and will continue to do so until I leave the club. We never throw in the towel and always fight until the last minute."
