DiarioSport says new Barca coach Pep Guardiola has asked the board to bid for Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu, though accepts the prospect of landing the Romania international is a long shot.
Guardiola wants to add two new central defenders to his squad for next season following the late season knee injury suffered by Gabriel Milito.
