Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been discussing some of his younger players following on from the match against Celtic in the Champions League.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Pablo Maffeo started for City, while loanee Patrick Roberts scored for Celtic against his parent club.

"I grew up at Barca where the academy is so important," said Guardiola. "Next season before I take a decision to buy a player I will look at the second team. Most of the (youth) competitions we win the title.

"Some of the players have a lot of quality. Of course it is not easy to play in the big teams who are fighting for the titles. They have to know we are there, we know their quality and know what they do."
