Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has told his board he's happy to go with what he has if they cannot sign his top two transfer targets. Sport says Guardiola has informed sports director Txiki Begiristain to drop all transfer plans if he cannot prise Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal nor defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Instead, Guardiola will happily lean on the best of Barca Atleti's prospects - including striker Pedro, who has been the club's top scorer in preseason.
Barca management also know they can address the issue again in January - and with a bumper transfer kitty to draw from.
