Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is likely to leave centre-back Vincent Kompany out of his squad for the trip to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
The Belgian defender has consistently struggled with injuries during the past two seasons and only recently made his comeback to Guardiola's first-team when getting through 78 minutes of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Southampton.
However, he is still lacking in match fitness and had to come off at half-time of Wed essay's EFL Cup defeat to Manchester United due to tiredness.
Guardiola wants Kompany to remain fit and fresh for next week's Champions League tie with Barcelona and intends to give him a breather on Saturday.
