Guardiola fears SACK if Man City don't win trophies this season

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola fears that he would get fired if he fails to win major trophies this season.

Both Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini were not allowed to stay in their respective jobs for more than two years without winning the league title, and Guardiola is aware that the same fate could befall him. The Citizens currently sit at the summit of the league table.

While speaking to Gary Lineker on the BBC's Premier League Show, the Spaniard said: "We will be judged on how many titles we win — if not we will be a failure, we know that.

"I am happy to be here but it depends on the success we will have.

"With big clubs like Manchester City, if you cannot win then you cannot stay."

He went on to admit he "needs a trophy this season" and discussed how hard it can be to keep all his squad happy.
