Pep Guardiola is urging his Barcelona board to deal in Daniel Alves over fears of losing his star fullback to England. Sport says the Barca coach rates Alves the best right-back in the world and is aware the Brazilian's representatives have been sounded out by Chelsea and Manchester City about a summer move to the Premiership.
Alves remains several levels below the top earners at the Nou Camp and Guardiola is pressing his board to improve the player's contract.
Both City and Chelsea have told the defender's minders they're willing to hand him terms equal to his standing in the game.
