Guardiola caught out as Real Madrid ahead of Barcelona in Ribery thoughts

Pep Guardiola is urging Barcelona chiefs to make Franck Ribery aware that they want him next season.

Bayern Munich star Ribery is understood to favour a move to Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid, despite the interest of Chelsea and Manchester City.

AS says Guardiola is upset over the developments as he sees the Frenchman as the ideal long-term replacement for Thierry Henry. The Barca coach wants the chance to speak with Ribery before he goes through with his decision to join Real.

Zidane has played a huge role in convincing Ribery to choose Madrid. The former World Player of the Year shares the same agent as Ribery and now is part of Florentino Perez's football staff at Real.
