Guangzhou Evergrande signing Alberto Gilardino has slammed former Italy coach Cesare Prandelli.
Gilardino revealed he turned down a move to Toronto FC in order to stay available for the World Cup.
"Have I overcome the shock yet? No. I had turned down an offer from Toronto in order to earn my call-up.
"Prandelli launched my career at Parma and I certainly won't change my mind on him, but the disappointment on a human level was huge. I deserved at least a phone call to let me know."
