There is a growing push inside Tottenham for Tim Sherwood to be given the manager's job fulltime.
As chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Franco Baldini consider their options, Sherwood is stepping from the shadows at White Hart Lane.
As it stands, he is only one of several candidates for the manager's job, but influential voices inside Tottenham believe he has the drive, ambition, leadership skills and football mind to do the job, says the Daily Mail.
Sherwood's eye for a player has been trusted since Harry Redknapp took him on to the coaching staff five years ago and he has impressed since moving to be technical co-ordinator, directing youth development.
Andros Townsend, Steven Caulker, Tom Carroll and Jake Livermore can all credit Sherwood's role in their development.
