Honduras are back in the World Cup after a 28-year hiatus and will be chomping at the bit to record some positive results.
They have a slight chance in their group but it seems unlikely that they will have enough to quality to get past the likes of Chile and Switzerland in South Africa which may leave them on the bottom of the group.
In saying that, the World Cup is a time where strange things can happen and teams who work hard with a strong spirit can often surprise.
These are qualities that the Honduras team possess and with an abundance of experience at international level, to add to that, it may not all be doom and gloom.
They are led by veterans Carlos Pavon (100 caps), Amado Guevara (134) and Noel Valladares (72) who are assisted by the likes of striker David Suazo, midfielder Wilson Palacios and defender Maynor Figueroa so it is up to the fringe players to step up and push Honduran football in the right direction.
Despite the positivity, I just can't see them progressing in 2010.
