Southampton scout Tord Grip is in Sweden this week to check on several players.
Malmo FF winger Jiloan Hamad and defender Pontus Jansson are under consideration, confirmed Grip.
"Hamad is an interesting player. I've been sent here by Southampton's chief scout Paul Mitchell to keep an eye on him and Pontus Jansson," revealed Grip.
"Hamad is a good player with drive and technique."
