Former Manchester United youngster Sean Evans is trialling with Grimsby.
The left winger who is currently with Stourbridge played the full 90 minutes of Town's second-string defeat at Sunderland on Tuesday.
Grimsby caretaker boss Neil Woods said: "Sean did fine but I'd like to see him again because it was a tough outing against Sunderland Reserves.
"We'll hopefully get him back up here again to play for the Reserves.
"He has a few things to sort out with his family and we'll give him time to do that - Sean is aware of the situation."
