Griffiths feeling positive after full Celtic debut

Leigh Griffiths is looking forward to forming a bright partnership with Anthony Stokes after the pair combined in Celtic's 3-0 win over St Johnstone on Sunday.

The 23-year old striker, who joined from Wolves last month, was making his first start for the Hoops following his 27-minue cameo in the Scottish Cup loss to Aberdeen last weekend.

Griffiths played up front with Stokes, who netted a hat-trick at Celtic Park, and he is excited about the budding relationship with the former Hibernian man.

"It was good to make my debut but the most important thing was to get the three points and get the win, and I thought the boys did that with a very good performance," Griffiths told Celtic TV.

"You always want to bounce back after a defeat and I thought we did that from start to finish. We were excellent and the important thing now is to try and continue that next week.

"Stokey was magnificent. Everything he touched seemed to go in and he was the one who was linking the play for us and with his goals, he fully deserved that hat-trick.

"Our styles seem to complement each other. The manager was saying that we both seemed to work really well."
