Griffiths brothers on target by Beijing Guoan go down in China

Australian brothers Joel and Ryan Griffiths were both on target but could not prevent Beijing Guoan from losing 3-2 to Chinese Super League leaders Shanghai Shenhua.

Older brother Joel opened the scoring for the match in just the 5th minute before Dai Lin and Jean Michel N'Lend enabled Shanghai to hit the front by the 12th minute.

The home side then took a 3-1 lead when Duvier Riascos netted just after the half-hour mark before Ryan Griffiths scored with a sublime left-footed shot in the 77th minute to give Beijing some hope.

But it was to no avail as Shanghai held sway and moved back to the top of the table following Shandong Luneng's 2-2 draw with Changchun Yatai.

Elsewhere in China, Zambian striker James Chamanga scored twice to help Dalian Shide to a 3-1 away win over Chongqing Lifan, Hangzhou Lucheng won 2-1 at home over Jiangsu Shuntian as did Tianjin Teda over Liaoning Hongyun, Henan Jianye beat Nanchang Bayi 1-0, Shaanxi Chanba won 1-0 away at Qingdao Jonoon whilst Changsha Ginde and Shenzhen Ruby played out a scoreless draw.
