Promoted Gretna have snapped up Frenchman Aurelien Collin to strengthen their defence.

Collin joins after Gretna's 4-0 thrashing by Falkirk on the opening day of the SPL. The 21-year-old has been on the books of Sedan, Amiens and Real Mallorca, without making a senior breakthrough. He has signed a two-year contract after convincing head coach Davie Irons he can improve the existing squad.

Irons said: "He impressed us in training and he will be a great addition to the squad."

The Raydale Parkers also confirmed they will sign a striker from the English top flight "within the next week".
